Halloween Party at Mae's

Cooper's class had their Halloween party this morning and it was so cute.  I love the Halloween songs that they sing.  Here he is doing the running motions in the "spooky walk."  I have video of them singing but couldn't upload it.  I sat up front so I could see his face and he looked at me and talked to me the whole time.
 Singing the "witches brew"....
Crawling around like cats...
Can you tell he's having a good time?  I have to say that I think the Halloween songs are my favorite and I have enjoyed listening to him sing them the last few weeks.
I think Cooper has about 18 treat bags full of goodies to bring home when I pick him up today.  Yea!  More candy!!  Have I mentioned that I'm already recycling the stuff?  We have way too much and it's not even Halloween yet.
While they were handing out treat bags, Cooper kept running over to me and saying, " I need to give you another hug, Mommy" or "I wuv you, Mommy."  It totally made my day!  Now that Kam has started kindergarten and has no parties like this, I realize how much I miss it. I would totally like to freeze time and keep my kids at Mae's forever!!!

Efird Halloween Hayride 2010

We had our annual Efird Halloween hayride and weenie roast last Saturday.  I look forward to it every year!  I know I talk about Cooper being rough a lot and maybe these pics will explain why I don't let him out of my sight often when other kids are around!
See a pattern?  Although they were playing football, he still made me nervous!
This is Avery dressed as Velma from Scooby Doo.  I laughed every time I looked at her Saturday night.
Kam insisted on being Supergirl this year, which wasn't my choice, but there was no changing her mind.  I begged her to let me pull her hair up but it wasn't happening.
We weren't very original with our costumes this year.  Cooper insisted on being a baseball player because Braxton was.  I kept trying to talk him into something else and finally he said very emphatically, "I told you I wanted to be a baseball player!" So a baseball player he is!
Uncle Ronnie wearing Fred's wig....someone needs to send this to the yearbook staff!
An attempt at a group picture (minus Aidan)....
Of course, Kam and Kamryn spent every minute together.  By the time Kam made it to the party Saturday night, she was so tired and crabby.
Cooper with his very dirty white baseball pants!  Mark insisted that he be a St. Louis Cardinal.... my pic was Cubs or Rangers!
We took our usual hayride but waited until dark this year to do so, which might not have been a good idea.  Canon had a run-in with a barb-wire fence!  Madison and AJ jumped out of the woods to try to scare the kids but I think the kids were onto them.... We ended the night with lots of treats!!  Good times!

Cooper's First Golf Game

When Papaw Sonny was down a few weeks ago, he and Mark took Cooper to DeGray for his first golf outing.  He got new clubs for his birthday and he's been dying to go.
Ready to go!  His clubs are bigger than he is!!
I told Cooper that he should pay attention to how Papaw Sonny golfs instead of watching his daddy.  Let's hope he gets Papaw's golf skills!
I asked Mark to take pictures of his first "real" golf game and this is what I got!
According to Mark, Cooper made it great until the 12th hole and I think he began getting a little tired then.  I'm pretty sure Papaw Sonny was worried that he was going to drive the cart off the whole time they were there.  He was very tired when they got home but said he had a lot of fun and wanted to go again!

Out Like a Light

Kam comes to my office on Tuesday afternoons before gymnastics.   Someone came in to visit today and she hid on the other side of my desk while we were talking.
I found her completely passed out and literally had to shake her awake after they left.  Who says kindergarten isn't exhausting?

Motley's Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, the kids and I went to Motley's Pumpkin Patch in Little Rock with Brian and Jamie, and Mom and Dad.  It was a lot of fun!

The girls....
 Kamdyn relaxing on the hayride...
Feeding the goats at the petting zoo.  Cooper decided he would just rather watch.
 My little pumpkins!
 Kamdyn...
Cooper riding the cow train...he always has his tongue out or some silly expression on his face when I try to take his picture.
Giddy-up, Tulip!
This is a common scene with my kids....fighting over something, which usually leads to hair pulling and wrestling on the ground.  I'm not kidding.
Watching the pig racesThe kids are still talking about Jimmy Dean, the green pig, winning all three races!
On a side note, Cooper absolutely loves sausage!  I asked my dad when we were leaving the pig races if I should tell him that sausage comes from pigs.  I think I'll save that bit of information for when he's older!

The kids loved the hay pit!
Kam posing on top of the hay pit...
Searching for the perfect pumpkin...
The kids and I on the hayride.... if you're wondering where Mark was, he "doesn't do pumpkin patches!"
Mimi and Pop with the grands....
After the pumpkin patch, we had lunch and did a little shopping before heading back for Parker's birthday party.  The kids went on another hayride and rode a horse there.  Needless to say, they were filthy dirty and tired (although they didn't know it!) by the time we got home that night.  As Kam said, "we had a big day!"  and what a great day it was!

Bismarck Homecoming - Part 3

This should be the last of the homecoming pictures, I promise!

Kam and her teacher, Mrs. Mac, whom she absolutely loves!  Mrs. Mac was so sweet and came down to see Kam in the locker room before the pep rally began earlier that day.
I tried to get a full-length shot of Kam up close.... not a very good one.  Notice my shadow on her dress!
Kam was super excited to see Kamryn and Kylie before the evening ceremony began...
The prince and princess...
I'm pretty sure Kamdyn dragged Levi down the field.  They didn't practice what to do on the football field so they just got quick instructions before everything started.
Levi told his mom after the ceremony that Kamdyn was "bossy!"  His mom told him that's what girls are supposed to do!
Anyone besides me notice that Kamdyn has her hands on her hips in most of the pics?  One of my close friends daughter was a sophomore maid but somehow I cut her out of the picture (that's her fuschia dress at the far right).  Kamdyn loved her dress the most she said.
As close to a group shot as I could get... love the colors of the girls dresses!
Kylie, Kamdyn, and Kenzie...
More pics with Levi after the ceremony.... a princess' job is so hard!  As I mentioned in a previous post, Kam was stuck on Levi like white on rice!  She knows a cute boy when she sees one!
Papaw Sonny was able to come down for the night ceremony and game...Kam was excited to have him there!!
 Kam and Pop...
Kamdyn with Pop and Papaw Sonny....
Playing with the lion again... I think he gave her a kiss at one point and she just squealed.  She was loving her some Bismarck Lion that day!
Cooper did not want to cooperate for a family picture so this was the best we could do... notice my mum?  I felt so special!!
We were thrilled to have almost the entire family there to see Kam.  Brian and Uncle Ronnie played at Hector that night (which is forever away!) so it worked out perfectly that almost everyone was able to come.
Kamdyn and Kamryn....best cousins forever!!!
Kamdyn and Aunt Donna...
Madison and her blue tongue....Of course, the kids wanted concessions out the wazoo (is that a word?) and at one point, Jodie came back with about 15 ring pops for the kids.  Yes, there really are that many little cousins!
Kamryn teaching the girls a few cheers....I think the kids had a great time playing and watching the cheerleaders and, of course, the lion.
Kam giving her Mimi some love... and that's Campbell passed out in Maddie's arms!
It was great to see some familiar faces and old friends at the game. We finally left after half-time and all headed to Pizza Shack for dinner.  The adults were starving and the kids were totally wired from all the cokes and candy.   It was a very fun, but totally exhausting day!!  The princess' mommy needed some rest!!!
