Oh, No They Didn't!

Oh, yes they did!

We played outside last night with JJ and her kids and our neighbor, Amy, and her two kiddos. Kamdyn and Kenzie went inside to the bathroom and I guess the boys followed them. We all knew they were inside for a while and at one point I thought to myself, "the kids rooms will be destroyed when I get back in" but obviously it didn't concern me. After all, that's what kids do and I want the kids to enjoy their playtime together.
What I should have thought was that I should go in and at least supervise the room destroying because that would have been much better than what was really going on! Apparently, the boys wanted some Cheerios and oatmeal. Thank goodness my Cheerio box was not completely full.

We've had to watch Cooper with the scissors lately. He cut the tags off a new shirt (that I was going to return by the way) because he said he liked it and wanted to wear it. We've had a few other run-ins with the scissors so I shouldn't be surprised that he cut open 2-3 packages of oatmeal and poured into the microwave to cook. Seems I now recall him setting the microwave for 98 minutes recently so I guess him turning the microwave on shouldn't be a surprise either.
Oh, and did I mention that there was also a tricycle in my kitchen as well? I know... we should have been paying closer attention to them. Lesson learned!

Mark was not happy when he got home to say the least. Cooper's response when Mark asked him why he did it was, "I just wanted to eat some oatmeal." And, by the way, I forgot to mention that he was eating uncooked oatmeal the whole time this was happening.

Mark's response was, "those boys just better be glad that I wasn't here when it happened!"
Kam swears that her and Kenzie were in the bedroom putting on makeup the whole time this was happening but she did tell me when we came in later that "I should've let this happen, Mommy." Cooper did have fun vacuuming up all those Cheerios and oatmeal later on. I'm not sure that part was much punishment.

Boys will be boys!

A Few Funnies

As Kamdyn was looking at our online photo gallery last night she put her hands up to her mouth and said, "how gorgeous I look!"

Whenever anyone points a camera her direction now, she strikes a modeling pose. You will see it more when I post the rest of our Easter pics. She also does this when she tries on clothes in a dressing room and looks at herself in a mirror. By the way, I've got a clothes horse on my hands! Yea for me.... not so good for Mark, I'm afraid!
On Wednesdays we have about 30 minutes time after work to kill before we go to dinner at church. Kamdyn likes to go to Stage to look at "her clothes" every week.... it's about the only selection we have in Arkadelphia. Cooper doesn't always like to go as was the case yesterday.
After we made the rounds of looking at all the kids clothes, I said that I wanted to go look at my clothes which prompted a lot of protest from both of them. Kamdyn shouted that she "didn't want to look at your clothes, Mommy!" I think I must have said something about looking at dresses and Cooper looked at Kamdyn (talking about me) and said "Her's got to get skinny first!" Ouch! The truth hurts--especially when it comes from a 3-year old!!

I'm wondering if my kids are trying to tell me something.... Kam has said to me at least twice in the last month that I look like I'm having another baby!

Easter Parties 2010

The kids had their Easter parties at school on Friday and had a great time! They had a big Easter egg hunt on Thursday which was fun too. Some of Cooper's class was absent Friday so once again, he was the only boy in a room full of girls! I keep telling him he doesn't know how lucky he is!
He acted so silly while we were there....
I think he kept his eyes on Mark and I most of the time instead of his teacher and class.

Mark was able to get off work to come which thrilled the kids. He normally isn't able to make it so it was a treat for him to be there. As you can see, Cooper continued to act silly...
Cooper is a serious drinker.... So much so that I'm beginning to worry that he's diabetic! Silly, I know, but we hear him say, "I'm firsty" a jillion times a day. Put food in front of him and he will go for the drink every time!
This is Kam's class... you can't really see her (the big red bow!) and no matter where I moved to she was hidden in my shot.
She has been with this group of kids for three years and they have really bonded. I am so sad that they will all be split up when Kindergarten begins this fall. I will always remember this special group of kids (and their parents) and be grateful for the friendships and memories Kam has made.

Kam and her BFF, Bailey....
Trying to be silly with icing mustache...
Until she threw a fit when her teacher insisted she eat a bite of apple....
These are the Fun Time girls!!! What great times they have had together!!!
As I mentioned, Mark was able to come to Kam's last official holiday preschool party. Makes me really sad when I think about it like that!!!

Family Pics

We had family pictures made with Heather Owens in Little Rock recently. She has posted a sneak peek on her blog at www.heatherowensphotography.com/blog. I am very excited about them and can't wait to see the complete gallery!

Bedtime Conversations

I have discovered that bedtime is when I have the most meaningful conversations with my kids. Bedtime prayers and devotionals sometimes prompt a lot of spiritual questions from Kamdyn and I must admit that sometimes I'm fearful I don't have the right answers.... or convey them to her in a way her little mind can understand. I hope we will always have these moments to talk about spiritual matters.
Last night she asked me where Jesus lived. Of course, I said heaven, but then I added "he lives in your heart" to which Kamdyn replied, "well his feet sure are hurting my chest!"

I don't think I have to tell you that Kamdyn is a very literal person so I shouldn't have been surprised at that answer! On a serious note though, she blows me away sometimes with her spiritual knowledge and understanding at her age. It makes a momma proud!

Boy Toys

I went outside at Mom's Sunday afternoon and found Brian and Mark playing with the two new remote control toys that Dad bought(supposedly for the boys) at Mal's yard sale this weekend. The boys were just dying to play with them but Mark and Brian were having too much fun themselves to let them play....
This big army vehicle was a huge hit with them all! Brian had this thing chasing me while I was trying to unload my car.
"I wanna play!" is what Brax kept telling Brian. Isn't that pitiful? Grown men playing while their sons just beg....
Cooper finally got a turn...... He's actually gotten good with the remote control, according to my dad.
And I have to include a shot of Kamdyn, who came outside to watch and commentate.

Outdoor Fun

The kids have been loving the warmer weather this week. Kamdyn has begged to go to the park every day when I pick her up. We haven't made it to the park yet but we did manage to get outside several nights this week. Kamdyn has practiced riding her bike a lot, which is something she's never shown much interest in before. I think she would like it better if she had a better spot to ride.
Cooper has been practicing hitting the ball off the tee. I think he actually does better when Mark just pitches it to him. Of course, we've not tried a real ball yet! Mark wants him to be left-handed and we're still not quite sure yet which he'll be. He bats both ways right now.
He's looking very forward to t-ball and I'm excited to watch him. Kamdyn will just be cheering this year.
And are you even surprised at this picture? Of course, Cooper started whacking away at the bicycle and Kam started screaming and running from him. I honestly think she's afraid of him. She screams and runs every time he picks up something and looks her way.

By the way, I keep forgetting my list of Kamdyn quotes to add. I'll get to that next week.

TGIF!!! We have a busy weekend!
