Introductions

Mom picked Cooper up from school one day this week and she said he just jumped up and ran to her so excited. He said "this is MY Mimi." Mom said she was just beaming and basking up his excitement at seeing her and then he turned to everyone and said "my Mimi's 60!!". I asked Mom if everyone laughed and she said "oh, yeah!". I think several of the mom's got a kick out of it. When they were leaving, Cooper turned to Mom and said, "Pop's 64" but Mom said of course, no one was around to hear that!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Last week was crazy busy, so I was thrilled when Cooper's game was cancelled on Friday night.  It was so nice to eat a home cooked meal and just relax (although I don't think doing laundry counts as relaxing)....

On Saturday, the kids and I went to Brian's softball game in Pine Bluff with Mom.  The Lady Panthers were in the quarter finals of the state tournament and they pulled off a win to land them in the semi-finals today.  I'm so excited for Brian and his girls (a few are students of mine)!!
Cooper and Braxton at last Saturday's game....
Apparently, I missed a weather forecast and didn't know that winter had returned on Saturday.  Hence, the shorts and t-shirts on all the kids.... it was more like football weather but luckily, mom had blankets and pullovers in her car and we survived.
We had dinner with Shane and Deana and kids later that night to finalize some Disney plans.  Kam and Coop were super excited to see Chase and Katelyn again.  Kam had her "giggle box" turned over all night.  I hope Katelyn can handle her for 10 days like that....
I have a feeling that all my Disney pictures will be like this.... Chase and Katelyn looking right at the camera and my kiddos acting wild and crazy and looking anywhere but the camera!
We are counting the days for school to be out and vacation time!  I know you're not supposed to wish time away, but I would really be fine with skipping the next three weeks and moving straight to summer!  I think I'm as anxious as the kids for summer break!

Memory Lane

I found this video yesterday while I was looking for some other pictures.  It is of Kam's 3rd birthday party at Mae's.  I was trying to tell Mom about it last night and I burst into tears.
Seeing that baby fat face and giggly smile makes me realize how much she has grown.  The days of her running up to me and shouting, "mommy" are gone and I realize how much I miss that.  Nowadays when I pick her up, she barely acknowledges me and doesn't want to leave!

Helloooo Lady!

Last night, I was telling Cooper that Lightning McQueen and Mater were going to be at Disney World next month when we were there.   I explained we were going to a "meet and greet" with them at Radiator Springs.  Kam  then told us that Mater was going to say, "helloooo lady!" (think Barry White accent) to her when she met him.
I asked her if that was what Mater always said and she replied, "I'm so hot that he's going to say that to me!"

Mother's Day 2011

It's impossible....
 to get....
 a picture...
 of my family...
when you have...
this to work with!
The look on my face says that I am threatening them to look at the camera or else!
So this is as good as it gets this year!  But my eyes are open and that's a plus!!!
I couldn't NOT post pictures of my mom on Mother's Day but again, I don't do pictures very well!  In this pose, I am trying to make sure I don't have 12 chins showing!
We had a great day at Mamaw and Papaw's after church...
This started out as one of those moments when you needed a camera because you had the perfect picture.... but as soon as I grabbed my camera the kids spread apart and began turning around.  They are looking at the cows...or maybe it's the pizza that they were throwing over the fence.  I'm fairly certain that I counted 5-6 pieces of pizza that they threw over to the cows.
We may have a new tradition started....we played baggo and had a lot of fun.  We're a competitive bunch so it sometimes can get interesting!
Mark...
Cooper and Braxton were dying to play and pretty much stayed in the way the whole time.  I've got to get Cooper this game because he loves it!
Cheering them on....
Cooper rolling the ball to Campbell and Grace...
I thought this was so cute.... when Campbell leaned over Cooper dusted her bottom off.
Mom, Donna, Ronnie, Mamaw, and Papaw.... do you see any family resemblance?
Ronnie and the double-mint twins!

Bare Necessities

With all the storms last week, we were without power for two days.  I'm so grateful that was as bad as it got for us.  We toughed it out at home the first night, but went to Mom and Dad's the second night.  It was like one big slumber party!!  The noise and chaos was so loud that I couldn't stand it anymore and finally had to put the kids in another room to settle down...
I must admit that I take modern conveniences for granted.   Once my power was back on for two days, our water pipe busted and we were without water for 1 1/2 days.  We survived though and again, this inconvenience was nothing compared to the loss and damage that so many other storm survivors incurred.  Thank you, Lord, for keeping us safe in the storms!

Easter 2011 - pt. 2

We had a great Easter Sunday at church and then at Mamaw and Papaw's afterward.  Church was wonderful and I enjoyed the special music and message.  Mark acted like I was crazy when I started to take my camera in to church so I didn't take it and missed pics of the kids singing.  Kam acted just like she did at the school musical so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her!

The kids did not want their picture taken so this was as good as it got......
I think Kam's hand on her hip indicates what she thought about having more pictures made...
Still not feeling it....
Cooper is going through this phase where he wants Mark more than me.  He knows that it drives me crazy and he does it for that very reason!  He tries to pull away from me...
I can so wear him down though...and his sly grin gets me every time....

I am trying to soak up and enjoy all the hugs and kisses that I can from him now.  I just keep thinking that before long he'll think he's too big to hug and kiss me or run to me shouting "mommy"...
Who am I kidding?  He's already too big for me but you know what I mean... before he thinks he's too big or cool to hug on his mommy in public.
The men relaxing....
Kam and Cooper kept asking me if the Easter Bunny, aka Rose, was going to be at Mamaw's.  It's a good thing that Scott has the Easter Bunny on speed dial because these kids expect him now every year.
Aidan and Kam hugging the Easter Bunny...
Mark's tossing, uh, hiding the eggs....hope that wasn't a real one....
Cooper and Braden and the Easter Bunny (you'll have to turn your head)...
Coop...
Kam found the prize egg with money in it and I felt a little guilty about it because I pointed her in that general direction...
Grace and Kason looking for eggs....
Kam and Brado and Scott and Cooper hunting for eggs....
Coop opening up all the eggs to see what's inside....
Beautiful Grace....
Mamaw and Papaw Efird.... Papaw celebrated his 81st birthday yesterday and Mamaw will celebrate her 80th in July.  I am so thankful and blessed to have them still!
