Our Disney Adventure

I surely don't want to bore everyone to tears with the play by play of our trip to Disney World, but my kids like to read this blog and they get excited when they get to read the "Kamdyn and Cooper story."  Having said that, I will probably be posting tons of pictures of our trip for the next several days for them.  So here goes....

I have to include this picture because this is right before we left.  We had to go say bye to Pop, who loaded them up with plenty of snacks, before we hit the road....
I cannot brag on the kids enough about how good they were in the car.  It was a long trip and they hardly complained the whole time (except when we were two hours late eating dinner thanks to Mark wanting to  "go a little further!")....I'm pretty sure I complained about riding more than anyone!
They played a lot of games and watched a lot of movies....
Mark and Shane talked to each other on Cooper's HOT WHEELS walkie talkies the first two days.  It absolutely cracked me up!  I think they were playing "Smokey and the Bandit" because I heard a lot of Sheriff Buford imitations.  Hilarious!!
Mark and the kids before we left Hattiesburg the next day...
Dinner in Gainesville... I think the kids were playing "hot potato"... oh wait!  Maybe it was "one potato, two potato".....
Checking in at Disney....
Downtown Disney....
The first of MANY pictures this week....
Buzz Lightyear...
We traveled 1000 miles for Cooper to play--you guessed it--the Wii....I think we could have stayed there and his vacation would have been complete!
Once we got him away from the Wii, he played with the balls in every store we went to.  He threw them, kicked them, hit people with them.... I told him I'm going to get a hamper or trash can for his room and he can throw balls into it all day!
Is it just me or does Donald look a little angry that Cooper has jumped on him?
We shopped at downtown Disney, which is always Mark's favorite thing!  Doesn't he look thrilled?  You'll see this face a lot in pictures to come!
Goofy Coopy!  I tried to get him to buy this hat but he wouldn't hear of it.  Chase got it and it looked great on him!
I'm pretty sure Mark got more into the Legos than the kids did.  He was "helping" them build race cars to race on the ramp...
Excited about racing his creation...
Cooper at the sports store...
I had to get a picture of Mark in a Cubs hat because you will never see him in one again!
After downtown Disney, we went to dinner at Chef Mickey's, which was probably one of the highlights of the week!  Those pictures to come... I think I've probably done enough play by play for today!

Hanging With the Hartsell's

It's been a busy day back at work after being gone for two weeks.   We spent eleven days with the Hartsell's at Disney World and Gulf Shores.  It was a blast!
I have lots of stories to tell and I promise to do that soon!

Vacation

We've been on vacation for the past two weeks; hence, the reason for no new posts. I promise to post what we've been up to on Monday.

Kam's Last Day of Kindergarten

Last Thursday was Kam's last day of kindergarten.  Technically, it was supposed to be Friday, but I'm a bad parent and let her skip.  She was so excited and I was a little sad because she's growing up so fast.  I made her slow down before she left so I could take a few pictures to remember...
Here she is on her first day of school nine short months ago and then on her last day.  I think she looks so much more mature in the second picture.  sniff.  sniff.
Kindergarten was a great experience for Kam and she had a fabulous year!  We could not have asked for a better teacher than Mrs. Mac.  She encouraged and nurtured Kam's love of reading and Kam loved going to the library and actually checking out books to bring home.  Most of the time she had already read them by the time I came home.  She is really excited to officially be a first-grader now and is looking forward to homework next year, which is more than I can say.  I dread homework.  Ugh!
It was a year of change for all of us.  I've taken the kids to preschool every day for three years.  This year, Mark began taking Kam to school every day and I took Cooper.  Mark thoroughly enjoyed (for the most part) the time he had with Kam every morning and it was nice for me to have some one on one time with Cooper as well.

I think it was the first week of school when Kam came home and told us she had a boyfriend.  We were shocked because she went to three years of preschool with boys and never once called one of them her boyfriend.  In two weeks of kindergarten, she had already had two different boyfriends!  She told us just a few weeks ago that she broke up with her boyfriend Landon, because her Uncle Steve told her to.  We asked her what Landon said and she replied, "he said he didn't care."  You go, Landon.  Good answer.

Some highlights of the year:  being selected Homecoming Princess, riding with Daddy to school every day, powder puff football game, riding school bus for the first time, first field trip, and making lots of new friends.  I'm sure there are more.

Did I mention that Kam also picked up a little attitude in kindergarten this year?  I think I'll just skip right over that part of the year!

End of Year Teacher Gift

Today was Kam's last day of kindergarten so we sent an Outback gift card to her teacher to say thanks for a great year.  This is the email I got from her this morning....

"Thanks so much for the gift card!!!!  I love Outback!!  Kamdyn is an awesome child and I have really loved having her!  Thanks for the opportunity to get to know her!  You have so much to be proud of…….she is one of the reasons I love teaching!
Shari
P.S.  Tell Mark I said I appreciate him giving up his Outback card he won!  LOL "

Because I know you're wondering, Mark won an Outback gift card a few weeks ago while we were in Rogers.  Won is probably a stretch because he had to donate $60 and then got lucky enough to win it as a door prize.   I've had every intention of getting Mrs. Mac something but it's been so chaotic at work that I haven't had a chance to go anywhere. So a few nights ago, I decided a restaurant gift card would be good and Mark said he had an Outback one in his pocket.  Problem solved!!!  Until now.... boy do we look cheap!!!

Ultimate Wii

Cooper was in Wii Heaven last weekend when we visited Uncle Steve and Aunt Carmella in Rogers.  As you can see, the boys have a massive TV in their upstairs room.
Cooper begged the boys to play Wii the whole time we were there!
